During Mike’s tenure with DEA, he developed and directed multiple complex investigations and served in multi-jurisdictional Task Forces. Known for his hands on leadership, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his community and Nation, Mike believes the Citizens of Knox County expect and deserve for their next Sheriff to serve with unquestioned integrity, trust, accountability, and transparency. Prior to his work with DEA, Mike started his law enforcement career at the Knox County Sheriff’s Department as a Correctional Officer and Post Certified Deputy Sheriff.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue my efforts in serving Knox County, my home and neighbors that I love so much. I chose a career path that focused on helping folks in need, keeping our streets safe from drug traffickers, and holding them accountable for their actions. It would be my highest honor to serve the citizens of Knox County as Sheriff, and one thing is for certain; I would never take that responsibility for granted.”
